Heartwood Policies

Please take the time to read and understand the conditions of booking accommodation at Heartwood, Lund, BC. It is your responsibility to ensure you agree to these policies at the time of booking.

Rates

  • All rates are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
  • All rates are based on double occupancy. 
    • Cabin 1 can accommodate up to 4 guests with two queen-sized beds. 
    • The Studio suite has a king size-bed and a pull-out double bed and can accommodate up to 4 guests. 
  • The rate for additional guests ages 12 and up is $30/person per night.

Cancellations

  • You may cancel your reservation up to 7 days prior and either apply the full amount to a future stay, or receive a refund minus $75 administration fee.
  • Reservations cancelled between 6 and 3 days prior to stay will receive a 50% refund minus $75 administration fee.
  • Reservations cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival are not eligible for a refund.
  • Please note that we are unable to hold any reservations without a deposit or full payment

Pet Policy

  • No pets allowed as we already have 3 dogs and 2 cats on the property.
  • Do not allow any animals inside your accommodation - Even when they try to convince you otherwise. :)

Strictly No Smoking

  • All accommodations and entire property are strictly non-smoking. 
    • No vaping on the property.
    • No cannabis on the property.
    • Anyone smoking on the property will have a $300 fine applied to their stay.

Quiet Hours

  • Please be considerate of our neighbours with noise levels.
  • 10pm–9am

Other Policies & Instructions

  • Respectful children are welcome.
  • Please follow posted instructions for composting toilets.
  • Please follow instructions for composting and recycling.
  • Meat Scraps must go in bin in freezer.
  • Do not leave any open food out as this will attract bears.
  • Please keep showers short as we are on well water.
  • Please leave shared spaces clean and ready for the next guest.
  • Diapers must be packed out with guests on departure as we have no municipal garbage pick-up.
  • No open-flames outside designated areas.

Cancellation By Heartwood Events

Heartwood reserves, in its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any retreat or workshop due to any material change in any government travel warning or advisory. In this event, we will do all we can to transfer any payments you may have made to future accommodations with Heartwood.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is recommended for all travellers, and if purchased, should be taken out at the time of booking. Your travel insurance should provide coverage against personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation with all recommended minimum coverage of $200,000 USD. We strongly recommend it cover cancellation, curtailment, and all other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay, or illness preventing your trip or inconvenience.

Right To Refuse Service

Heartwood and any retreat/workshop organizers reserve the right to accept, or decline, any person as a guest at any time without liability and without any obligation to pay a refund or any other amount whatsoever. Heartwood takes no responsibility or liability for any participant who leaves the vacation rental prior to its conclusion, or for any activity undertaken by any participant while staying at Heartwood.

Changes

Heartwood reserves the right to make changes to any aspect of a stay on our property, at the absolute discretion of Heartwood Events, it is necessary to do so due to conditions that may be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions such as weather, political, military, terrorist or otherwise or for any other reason considered necessary by Heartwood Events.

Force Majeure

If Heartwood are prevented from performing any of their obligations under this Agreement by acts of God, strikes, trade disputes, fire, weather, breakdowns, interruption of transport, government or political action, acts of war or terrorism, acts or omissions of a third party or for any other cause whatsoever outside Heartwood's reasonable control, Heartwood will be under no liability whatsoever to you and may either cancel or postpone the accommodation at Heartwood.
